DIY: Bouncy Ball
Activity Idea inspired by STEM Laboratory.

Materials needed:
1 tablespoon of borax (found in the laundry section of the grocery store)
1/2 cup of warm water
2 tablespoons of white glue (Elmer’s school glue works the best)
1 tablespoon of cornstarch
Food color (optional)
Looking for a fun and simple science activity that’s sure to entertain?! In this quick, five-minute experiment, little chemists mix up their own homemade bouncy balls. This is a great activity for laughs and a fun toy to play with afterward. This is a perfect activity for matches who like science or DIYS!
Step 1
Mix the water and borax. Give it a good stir to dissolve the borax.
Step 2
Combine the glue and cornstarch using a butter knife provided by your school. Stir it up!
Step 3
Add a few drops of food coloring. This is your time to be creative!
Step 4
Pour the glue mixture into the borax water, and let it sit for about 10-15 seconds. Remove the glue mixture with a fork.
Step 5
Roll your mixture into a ball and throw it on the floor to see if it bounces!
